自分の選んだ本を読む練習をしてきます。もう一度同じ本を読んできてもらうこともあります。
小学校中学年以上の子供が今読んでいるのは、ORT（オックスフォードリーディングツリー）です。
読んでもらった後、２つほど本の内容について尋ねることにしています。昨日のレッスンでの生徒の一人との会話。
Maki: Why did Mom’s new hat fly (off ) ?’
A student : (Because )The wind blew.
Maki: Do you remember what color the paint was ?
The student: Yellow.
お見事です。
They do homework, reading homework. They choose a book from 10 books and practice it at home. They read ORT. I always ask them two questions about the story they read. What I asked yesterday was above. Excellent ! Good job !
